The Sorento is available with three different power options. Coming standard is the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 185-horsepower. Available engines include the 290-horsepower, 3.3-liter V-6 and a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that offers 240 horsepower. The Sorento comes with your pick of either front or all-wheel drive models, and comes standard with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Sorento also packs great features for towing; the Sorento can tow 2,000 pounds when powered by the base, four-cylinder engine, while the turbocharged four-cylinder that offers 3,500 pounds of towing. Finally, the V-6 can tow as much as 5,000 pounds on all-wheel drive Sorentos.
The inside of the 2016 Kia Sorento reveals a spacious interior, with a new dashboard layout that offers similar styling to the 2015 Kia Sedona. Coming standard is fabric upholstery, and two different kinds of leather are also available. The five-seat models feature a 40/20/40 split folding second row, or the seven-seat options adds a 50/50-split folding third row. Standard features include cruise control, air conditioning, satellite radio, Bluetooth, a CD stereo, as well as both MP3 and USB connectivity. Optional features include a touch-screen navigation system, 7-inch instrument panel screen and Kia's great UVO system which integrates Apple's Siri Eyes Free technology. The exterior of the 2016 Kia recalls previous models, with a familiar front-end styling yet the bigger grille offers a dramatic new feature to the appearance. New exterior highlights include an updated version of the crossover's V-shaped D-pillar, taillights and headlights. Standard features include heated side mirrors, a rear spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels and LED positioning lights.
The 2016 Kia Sorento comes equipped with excellent new safety and security features, with standard features include side curtain airbags, electronic stability system, and anti-lock brakes. Available features include a blind spot warning system, forward collision warning, surround-view camera system, rear cross-traffic alert and lane departure warning.
